2010 Media Credentials Procedures |
VIR is happy to invite all working members of the media to request credentials to any of our racing events during 2010. To request credentials, please follow the procedure described below:
1. LETTER OF ASSIGNMENT
Please have your supervising editor or director provide a letter of assignment on company stationery (no photocopies please.) Emails from an outlet we are already familiar with are acceptable. The letter must state in what capacity you will be covering the event (i.e., newspaper reporting, radio broadcast, television coverage, online reporting, photography, etc.) and which event you will be covering. You must be 18 years of age or older to apply for a credential. If you'd like to cover more than one event, a separate letter is required for each event.
2. CLIPPINGS / PHOTOS
Please provide representative/sample clippings of stories you have written about VIR or other racing-related events with your letter if you have never covered a VIR event before. Photographers should provide samples of published work related to racing.
3. SPECIAL REQUESTS
Photographer's Vest
Any photographer on assignment from a newspaper, magazine or other publication will be considered for a photographer's pass. If you are working as a photographer and a reporter on the same weekend, please note this in your request.
Freelance Requests
Unfortunately, no freelance requests can be honored, due to insurance restrictions. If a freelance journalist is on assignment from a publication or team, that outlet must provide the request.
