The choice to use VIR for our Lightning Laps program was pretty simple. It is one of the most challenging road racing circuits in America... today's new, computer-designed road courses just don't measure up to what a guy walking through a field could envision back in the day.

I like it better than any course I've ever driven. Elkhart Lake, I guess, would be next. It is more like a natural road than Elkhart, and this is how a road course should be. It's fast, but interesting.

II like VIR. It's challenging, it's got some real hard braking points. The Esses are great fun. The whole track is a real, real good track. This place is kept very, very well. You guys obviously have a lot of pride in this place. The grass is cut beautifully clean . . . even the toilets are superb - they're like five star hotel toilet facilities.
