The Skip Barber Formula Car Three Day Racing School |
The renowned Skip Barber formula-car three day school visits VIR regularly throughout the season.
Experience the "serious fun" of the most prestigious racing school in the world where you will learn and practice the same techniques we taught to Jeff Gordon, Michael Andretti and hundreds of other famous drivers.
Each day begins with a short classroom "chalk talk," then you're on the race track. What you can expect:
 Day 1: Intense series of slalom, braking & downshifting exercises with special attention on double-clutch/heel-and-toe downshifting- Day 2: Series of high-speed lapping sessions combined with racing theory & advanced braking techniques
- Day 3: Track drills in drafting, passing & racing in the rain; double-file race starts & single-file restarts
Also, the Skip Barber Eastern Region Race Series spends a week at VIR/Full Course at least once a year (usually in April), culminating in Saturday and Sunday races for each race group. This Race Series is open to all licensed race car drivers, not just regular SBRS competitors.
