NASCAR Stars Edwards, Ambrose To Test Doran Racing Daytona Prototype Tuesday at VIR |

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Aug. 17, 2009) - NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regulars Carl Edwards and Marcos Ambrose will make their Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 Daytona Prototype testing debut Tuesday, driving the Doran Racing No. 77 McDonald's Ford Dallara on the North Course at Virginia International Raceway.
Edwards is fourth in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings, in solid contention to make the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. He is also running second in the Nationwide Series with two victories. The 2007 Nationwide Series champion, Edwards finished second in the standings of both of NASCAR's top two divisions last year.

10th Anniversary Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals AMA Pro Road Racing Weekend Ready To Roll |

The 10th Anniversary Suzuki Big Kahuna Nationals will feature all four of AMA Pro Road Racing's divisions in a jam-packed schedule highlighted by six different races this weekend, August 14 - 16, at Virginia International Raceway (VIR).
At least two 2009 titles could be decided and several more championship scenarios could begin taking final shape at the Big Kahuna, the next to last event weekend on the 2009 schedule for AMA Pro National Guard American Superbike presented by Parts Unlimited,

Big Kahuna Nationals Hosts Drive for Local Food Bank |
Danville, VA (August 6, 2009) - VIR and the AMA give fans a chance to give back to the community by donating canned goods to the local food bank.
"VIR is always trying to give back to the community that supports us," said track general manager Josh Lief. "Motor Racing Outreach and God's Storehouse are both great activities and we invite all our guests to support them in this food drive."

Last Chance to See Mat Mladin in Action at VIR |
Danville, VA (August 6, 2009) - Mat Mladin, the six-time American Superbike champion and winner of 82 Superbike races, including ten so far in 2009, has announced that he plans to retire following the end of the 2009 season.
In an open letter and press release, Mladin stated: "After so many great years of racing in the USA, I will retire from AMA racing at the end of the 2009 racing season in New Jersey.

Motorcycle Week at VIR Includes Boston Moto School on Three Courses |

Freddie Spencer to Teach Riding and Racing at VIR |
Danville, VA (July 28, 2009) - Three-time World Champion motorcycle racer Freddie Spencer brings his expertise to VIRginia International Raceway with Team Pro-Motion's motorcycle riding schools, August 1-3.
"Spencer's reputation as a rider is matched by his skills as a teacher, giving riders training in the skills needed to race successfully or ride safely on the streets," said VIR general manager Josh Lief. "'Fast Freddie' sits in the top twenty of AMA riders with a career 24 wins, 15 of them on Superbikes." Spencer began riding at age four and racing only one year later, moving on to victories at nearly every level and on nearly every kind of race course, from flat tracks to international road race circuits.
