VIR’s RacePlex™ & Virginia Motorsports Technology Park (VMTP) give tenants a unique opportunity to develop products from a trackside location with optimum vehicle testing capabilities including four distinct road courses, a 5/8-mile karting course, and a variety of off-road courses and terrain. Shop size ranges from 2,500 to 20,000 square feet.
Southside Virginia is well known in the Mid-Atlantic region as “Motorsports Alley”. Companies who establish a presence here also have the added advantage of operating in close proximity to other race support and automotive businesses.
As an additional resource, participants will have access to VIPER’s independent third-party researchers, who provide insightful feedback while maintaining strict confidentiality.

 The Virginia Institute for Performance Engineering and Research (VIPER) central facility provides advanced vehicle testing services to motorsports teams, and commercial and military vehicle manufacturers. The VIPER Service building currently houses a Moog-FCS 8-post vehicle test rig and a Roehrig shock dynamometer. Future VIPER Service offerings will include a state-of-the-art driving simulator, a chassis dynamometer, and access to the Langley Full Scale Wind Tunnel with a rolling road platform. VIPER has a strong partnership with Virginia Tech, Old Dominion University, and IALR that enables a pathway to transfer cutting-edge technology developed through applied research directly to our customers.
